How do I get started?You can create a free xSpaces account now through our app. You will need to download and install the free xSpaces app on the relevant devices. If you need help with installing, you can check out our tutorial videos on YouTube or watch them here on our website. You will need to sign up with an email address as you will receive a verification code in your inbox to verify your registration.

How do I register a free xSpaces account?Once you have downloaded and installed the xSpaces app onto your device, you can register a free xSpaces account through the app using your email address. 1. Click Register. 2. Enter your email address. 3. Enter your nickname - this will become your avatar's display name. 4. Enter your password and store it somewhere safe. 5. Enter the image code you see. 6. Agree to Privacy Protocol. 7. Click on Obtain code to get your verification code. 8. Check your inbox and enter the verification code received. Once you have created your account, simply head back to the main page to login with your email and password.

What hardware do I need for xSpaces?xSpaces has been made to be as accessible as possible. Whilst we are built on the foundation of VR hardware, we understand not everyone has access to a VR headset. xSpaces can be accessed via other mainstream devices such as Android phones and Windows 10 PC/laptop. Those of you with iPhones and Mac laptop are not to worry! Compatibility with these devices are to come in 2021. For a more immersive experience, we recommend using xSpaces on a VR headset. The list of compatible VR and MR hardware can be found on our APP page.

Why can't I load xSpaces?Make sure that your device is connected to Wi-Fi before logging in. If you are accessing through a school network, it is most likely a firewall issue. Please contact our team for a list of IP addresses for whitelisting.

Can I choose a different avatar?Before you enter a room, you will be prompted to choose an avatar that best represents you. Select an avatar of your choice before entering the room. There are a limited selection of half body and full body avatars currently available.

Can I move around in xSpaces?Of course! There are slightly different controls depending on what device you are using. For PC/laptop users - you have 2 options on the keyboard: WASD keys or the arrow keys. For Android phone users - slide to move using the bottom left joystick on screen. For Pico G2 users On your touchpad, press the right edge once - a green line with green circle should appear. Point to a desired location. Using the touchpad, slide to point in the direction which you would like to face after teleporting. Hit trigger to teleport. For Oculus / Pico Neo 2 users Press on your right controller's joystick - a green line with green circle should appear. Point to a desired location. Slide your joystick to point in the direction that you would like to face after teleoprting. Hit trigger to teleport.

I'm not facing the right way when teleporting / moving! What do I do?For PC users - click and drag your left mouse button to rotate your view. For Android users - use the botton right slider to rotate your view. The controls on VR headsets are slightly different and what you want to see is a green line and green circle with an arrow pointing out (see picture below). For Pico G2 users On your touchpad, press the right edge once - a green line with green circle should appear. Point to a desired location. The screen feels tilted / doesn't look right on my VR headset, how can I fix it?"If you feel the screen is tilted or your controller is not aligning right, you will need to recalibrate the headset whilst sitting upright. For Pico G2 users - press and hold the Pico button on your controller for a few seconds. For Pico Neo 2 users - press and hold the Pico button on your right controller for a few seconds. For Oculus users - press and hold the Oculus button on your right controller for a few seconds.

How do I bring up / hide the settings menu?Settings menu is only available on VR headsets. To bring up the settings menu: For Pico G2 users - press the back button once. For Pico Neo 2 users - press the menu button on either controller. For Oculus users - press the menu button on left controller.

How do you adjust volume?For PC users - adjust volume on your desktop or laptop. For Android users - adjust volume using the volume buttons on the side of your phone. For VR headset users - adjust volume using the volume buttons on your headset. You can also adjust using the volume controls in your settings menu.

How do I turn my microphone on and off?For PC/laptop users - tap the microphone icon at the bottom of your screen To turn your microphone on: ensure the icon is GREEN. To mute your microphone: ensure the icon is GREY. For Android users - same as PC users. For VR headset users - open your settings menu to open or turn off your microphone. GREEN = mic is on. GREY = mic is off.
